Synopsis
Hanamichi Sakuragi is a lanky, red-haired freshman at Shohoku High with a reputation for being a troublemaker. After fifty rejections in middle school, his life shifts when Haruko Akagi takes an interest in him. A simple question from her about basketball sparks a new passion, driving him to the gym to master the slam dunk. While training, he crosses paths with Rukawa, a talented freshman and one of Japan's top basketball prospects, setting the stage for intense competition on the court.
