Kasumi serves as the Water-type specialist and Gym Leader of Hanada City, where she awards the Cascade Badge to successful challengers. Her relationship with Satoshi began with a bitter rivalry after he accidentally destroyed her bicycle, but they eventually became close companions and traveling partners.
