Synopsis

Togusa leads a reorganized Section 9 in a futuristic Tokyo, managing an expanded team to combat a wave of sophisticated cyber-crimes. These attacks are traced back to a notorious hacker known as the Puppeteer. As Batou investigates these digital incursions, he encounters Motoko Kusanagi, who has been absent from the unit for two years. Her sudden appearance and cryptic warnings about the case force him to reexamine everything he knows about his former partner and their shared history.
