Synopsis
Ten-year-old Tetsuro Hoshino wanders the solar system alone after the death of his mother. He eventually joins Maetal on the Galaxy Express 999, a legendary train traveling through deep space. The journey offers the promise of immortality to those who reach its final destination. As they traverse the cosmos and move beyond our own planetary system, Tetsuro must endure the hardships of a life spent traveling alongside a mysterious stranger in search of a way to escape his impoverished existence.
