Shouya Ishida

Shouya Ishida, standing at 183 cm, is the narrative center of the story, guiding us through his transformative journey. Once a bully who tormented Nishimiya Shouko, he faced isolation and bullying from his peers after she transferred away. Ishida retreated into himself, seeing others with an imaginary 'X' across their faces. However, his life took a turn when he apologized to Nishimiya, learning sign language to bridge the gap. This act sparked a path to redemption, as he grapples with past actions and yearns for a different present, questioning if true friendship is ever attainable again.
