Ryuk

Ryuk is a bored Shinigami who dropped the Death Note into the human realm by accident. He maintains a neutral stance throughout Light Yagami's rise to power, refusing to assist directly and instead watching Light's struggle for control for his own amusement. While he appears indifferent, Ryuk strategically withholds details about the notebook's mechanics, only providing help when it serves his personal interests, such as obtaining apples. His relationship with Light is defined by this self-serving detachment, making him an unpredictable presence in the conflict.
