Suzu Houjou

Suzu Houjou is an artist from the coastal town of Eba in Hiroshima. After marrying Shusaku Hojo, she moves to Kure, where she applies her natural talent for drawing to find beauty within the chaos of wartime Japan. Though she faces the immense hardships of a nation devastated by war, her diligent spirit and kindness remain constant throughout her journey.
