Genma Saotome

Sharing much of his son Ranma's arrogance, this martial artist often lets laziness or fear prevent him from demonstrating his true skills. After leading Ranma to the Jusenkyo springs without understanding the Chinese warnings, he became cursed to transform into a panda when splashed with cold water. While he communicates via written signs in his animal form, he remains surprisingly unbothered by the change. Most days, he can be found relaxing at the Tendo residence, playing Go alongside his close friend, Soun.
