Zangetsu is Ichigo Kurosaki's zanpakutou, manifesting as a wise, composed spirit who tests his wielder with deceptive challenges. He appears as a mature man and carries a massive, cleaver-like blade in his shikai form, transitioning to a sleek, black daitō during his Tensa Zangetsu bankai. In battle, he can fire devastating Getsuga Tensho energy crescents and possesses the ability to temporarily seal fatal injuries.
