Maya

An adorable Iriomote kitten first encountered during a class trip to Okinawa, this small feline forms an unexpected bond with Sakaki. Following the tragic loss of his mother, the kitten bravely tracks down Sakaki to protect both her and Chiyo from the threats posed by Kamineko’s gang. Now living under Chiyo's care, he bears the name Maya, a shortened version of a local native term chosen by Sakaki.
