Howl is a 27-year-old Welsh wizard whose flamboyant appearance hides a more complex personality. While he is not conventionally handsome, he possesses a natural charm and frequently uses disguises, such as dyeing his hair and wearing elaborate suits, to mask his true nature. His moving castle is currently stationed near Market Chipping, where rumors suggest he pursues young women-a stereotype he intentionally plays into. Despite this reputation, Howl is intelligent and kind, though his companion Calcifer notes his tendency to use comical methods to escape difficult situations.
