Manzou

This farmer from Kanna Village, known for his perpetually complaining nature and distinctive appearance, becomes the unofficial voice for the villagers who resist samurai intervention. During a conflict, his attempt to betray the samurai leads to a pivotal moment, and he is later defended by Kikuchiyo, who offers a perspective on the harsh cycle of conflict. Eventually, influenced by Kambei, he shifts his allegiance to the samurai's cause while still maintaining his characteristic grumbling.
