Although she communicated with the subject primarily through loudspeakers, she maintained a complex, maternal bond that led Mariko to affectionately call her "Mommy." Driven by her professional role, she also worked covertly to sever any lingering emotional ties Mariko held toward her biological parents, Kurama and Hiromi, ensuring total control over the subject's development.
