Motoko Maeda

Residing in Lower Sotoba and working at drive-in Chigusa, this devoted housewife harbors a dangerous, irrational fear of outsiders. Her extreme xenophobia drives her to isolate her children from the nearby motorway to protect them from perceived threats. This paranoia spirals into total madness following a horrific tragedy when her father-in-law, Iwao, transforms into a Shiki and slaughters her entire family. The loss of her husband, daughter, and mother-in-law eventually leads to the tragic murder of her last surviving son.
