Belonging to the Ōshū Tōno Family, this Amanojaku yokai spends most days performing the humble task of chopping firewood. As a unique demon capable of transforming, they shift into a graceful female form during the night to dance with the elegance of a heavenly nymph. Their identity is deeply rooted in Japanese mythology, drawing inspiration from the Kojiki’s Awashima no Kami, a deity characterized by a gender-neutral essence that transcends the traditional divide between male and female.
