Mei Kusakabe

Mei Kusakabe is Satsuki's energetic four-year-old sister. She is the first person to encounter and bond with the forest spirit, Totoro. Driven by concern for her mother’s declining health, Mei attempts to walk to the hospital alone. This solo journey leads her astray, leaving her lost in the woods during her attempt to reach her family.
