Gou Mutsugi

A news reporter sent to Area 88 to investigate rumors of foreign pilots in the Asranian civil war became fascinated by Shin, the sole Japanese pilot fighting for the Asranian military. After seeing a photo of Shin in a magazine, a woman believed he was alive. He tragically died in an OVA, but in the TV series, he revealed his sponsor was Satoru Kanzaki, seeking proof of Shin's death for a relationship. Despite this, he later intervened to stop a marriage. In another version, he survived a fatal shooting but was gravely wounded, while a photographer named Rocky traveled extensively, leaving no lasting connections to Japan.
