Hatsu Kanou

This character is the matriarch of the Nakata family, mother to Hiromi and grandmother to Seigi. A pivotal event in her past involves stealing a valuable ring from Tae Miyashita, which she later passed down to Seigi. Following the war, her life became deeply difficult after losing her family, leading to a marriage with an abusive soldier. Struggling with poverty and the loss of her sons, she sought survival by pickpocketing on trains to support herself and her family, demonstrating resourcefulness.
