Mercutio is an ambitious, cunning individual driven by a desire to inherit the Montague name and a clear disdain for ordinary people. Tasked by Montague to observe Romeo, his true interest in Hermione remains ambiguous. Motivated by deep resentment toward his father, he eventually participates in a violent act that leaves him grappling with profound guilt and a fractured sense of self amidst the surrounding chaos.
