Gozaburo Kaiba

Gozaburo Kaiba is a former arms manufacturer CEO and legendary chess champion whose reputation looms large over Seto and Mokuba. The brothers were adopted by him after Seto issued a high-stakes challenge: win a game of chess or reveal his deepest fears to the press. Although Seto ultimately defeated him, the victory came with heavy consequences, as Gozaburo’s cruelty forced Seto into a life of obsessive studying. When Gozaburo attempted to digitize his heir, Seto outmaneuvered him once more, acquiring enough shares to strip him of control over Kaiba Corp. The ensuing pressure eventually led to reports of Gozaburo's suicide.
