Driven by a cold demeanor, he repeatedly attempts to claim Mitsuki's soul while inflicting emotional distress on Meroko, despite claiming to love her. He secretly orchestrated Takuto and Meroko's assignment to Mitsuki to trigger Takuto's repressed human memories. However, his manga counterpart is far less villainous, portrayed instead as a lost soul who eventually finds a home among the other shinigami.
