As a wandering monk and Cherry’s uncle, this eccentric character goes by the English name "Cherry" to avoid the dark connotations of his true Japanese name. Though he claims to possess immense spiritual abilities, his grim prophecies for Ataru rarely come true. This diminutive, comedically unattractive ascetic lives in a nearby tent, strictly following a vow of poverty while frequently mooching food from others. He is known for his unpredictable appearances and a design reminiscent of Sailor Moon's grandfather.
