Despite his grand ambitions and constant, failed attempts to charm women, he possesses a surprisingly noble heart. While he initially serves as a persistent obstacle, his character arc reveals a deeper integrity, eventually leading him to intervene and prevent Laharl from committing a catastrophic error during the series' climax.
