Kikyou

Once a devoted shrine maiden deeply in love with InuYasha, this tragic figure met her end fifty years before the main story began when Naraku, disguised as her lover, orchestrated her death. Reanimated by the ogress Urasue, she exists in a state of undeath, physically appearing human but remaining fundamentally deceased. To maintain her movement and sustain her hollow existence, she is forced to consume the souls of the departed, trapped in a restless, ghostly cycle.
