Amuro Ray grew up in the Side 7 space colonies, trained by his father's work with advanced Federation weaponry. During the Zeon attack on his home, he took control of the RX-78-2 Gundam to defend the colony. As the One Year War progressed, his developing Newtype abilities turned him into an ace pilot. His performance in the iconic mobile suit earned him the reputation of the "White Ghost" among enemy forces.
