To overcome his smoking habit, he transitioned into the hobby of wire sculpting, creating intricate metal figurines that Yuki eventually sells to support the track team. Though he abandoned competitive running after a difficult high school coaching experience, he has recently rediscovered his passion for the sport through Haiji's motivating influence.
