Shinji Hirako

Once the captain of the 5th Division, this charismatic yet comical warrior famously distrusted Sōsuke Aizen, though he was ultimately deceived by the traitor's betrayal. Known for his playful teasing of Hiyori Sarugaki and his deadpan flirtations, he brings much-needed levity to intense battles. He wields the powerful zanpakutō Sakanade, which uses a disorienting scent to invert an opponent's entire sense of direction. After Aizen's defeat, he successfully reclaimed his leadership role within the Soul Society.
